Bike Riding

Right now Elianna's favorite activity is to ride her bike. Mind you that I picked it up at a garage sale for only $5 and it's the toy she plays with for the longest. Up and down the driveway she rides laughing every time even if it is the twenty-second time.

What's extremely cute is Selah's helping. Our driveway is not in the best of shape to say it nicely. Sometimes Elianna will get caught on a bump or something where her training wheels are on the driveway but the tire doesn't have any contact to the driveway. So she could pedal all day but the bike doesn't move. When she calls for help Selah comes running to give her a little push so she can get moving again. It's too funny to see this little toddler pushing her bigger sister.

Of course, Shadow has to be in on the action too!

Dog Days of Summer

Not many happenings this month. I did have the girls a little more than usual leading up to Sarah & Eric's wedding. Elianna's main activity was riding her bike and I didn't think to take any pictures.

This is "Watermelon Girl" aka Selah. I think this girl could eat a whole watermelon herself. When I took this picture she had only took one step out of the kitchen and plopped herself down on the floor to eat. She couldn't even wait to get to the table. I love the juice dripping from her chin!

Dairy-go-Round

After going to the SprayScape, I took the girls to get ice cream. Since the girls love carousels, I knew I had to take them to the Dairy-go-Round. It has a big carnival top over the place. The girls could sit on horses while they ate their ice cream. Of course, the girls had to try every horse while we waited.

Elianna stood by this horse and said,"Now this here horse..." and started in on this long story she made up.

Then she thought riding double would be fun. But you can see what Selah thought.

As soon as we had pulled in Selah started saying," Chocolate, Nana, Chocolate!"

When I asked her did she want an ice cream cone, she repeated, "Yes, Chocolate icy cone, chocolate." (a girl after my own) Elianna didn't care what flavor as long as it had Sprinkles.

SprayScape

Elianna immediately was into the water, running and playing.

Selah was more timid and at first just liked splashing in the puddles or watching to see when the different structures started spraying. Finally, when we were ready to leave she was brave enough to run through the frog "rain" and didn't want to stop. Even when Mom and Elianna went to the PlayScape, she and I stayed to play at the Sprayscape.

Selah Solo

Yesterday, last night , and all day today I had only Selah. Her Mom & Dad had went to an amusement park.

Sister, Elianna, went to a Cousins Camp Out at Aunt CoCo's house.

This was the longest time I've had her alone.

It was a blast!

She loved the one-on-one Grandma attention. Sometimes she was laughing so hard Papa stopped what he was doing to come and see. Selah enjoyed playing with all the toys by herself.

Being a book fiend, she especially loved having Grandma read her every children's book in the house and some of them numerous times. "Agin" "Agin" was a phrase I heard many times.

To top it off, G-ma and G-pa were here when she arrived then later Uncle Craig stopped by to read, sing and play with her.

I found out that Selah loves "burries". So we went out to the big mulberry tree in the front yard to pick some. Alas, Papa had trimmed all the branches so high that I could only reach a few ripe ones. Selah became very angry with me because I would not pick her the white berries. In typical 2 year old fashion she thought I just wasn't giving her what she wanted. Good thing I knew she has a white mulberry tree at home so she was used to getting white ones. She didn't understand that these berries were not ripe.

Circus

Today Elianna and I went to the Circus. It was the exact type of Circus that I like for young children. It had one ring, outside with bleachers set up around the ring. All the family members doing different acts.

Elianna loved all the new experiences. The circus music she heard as we walked toward the circus entrance just started the non-ending questions.

First thing I let her ride the ponies. (that was old hat for her!)

We watched the Lions and Tigers, Dancing Camel, Balancing Elephants and dogs doing tricks.

She liked the hawkers walking around the crowd selling popcorn, cotton candy, balloons and toys. Surprisingly she only asked for the sno cone and later a bottle of water. During Intermission she was so excited she wanted to call her mom right then to tell her, "I have much fun!" We also bought a coloring book for Selah.

She was really interested in the human acts and caught on real quick to the fact that some people did more than one act. Elianna kept wanting to see Colleen come out again.

She added Juggle, Trampoline, Aeriel, and more to her vocabulary in short time.

Watching this man juggle balls, pins and knives was entertaining to her but when he started juggling fire she said, "ooow that's dangerous!"
